What Happens During a Professional Oven Clean? A Step-by-Step Guide

A professional oven clean takes approximately 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the type of oven, and transforms it from grimy to like-new. Here is exactly what happens when MINT cleans your oven.

Before We Arrive

You will receive a WhatsApp message on the morning of your appointment with a reminder of the time, your technician's name and photo, and their mobile number. You do not need to do anything to prepare. Do not try to pre-clean the oven — that is our job.

Arrival

Your MINT technician arrives in a branded mint green van, wearing a branded polo and lanyard with photo ID. They present their ID at the door before entering. A branded mat is laid down next to the oven to protect your floor.

Step 1: Before Photos and Condition Check

Using an iPad, the technician photographs every appliance to be cleaned and notes any existing damage or issues. They confirm the oven turns on and verify that the booking matches what they see. If you booked a single oven but actually have a double, this is discussed and adjusted on the spot.

Step 2: Strip-Down

The oven is completely stripped. Racks, trays, side liners, fan covers, and the entire door are removed. The door is split apart to access every glass panel. Everything removable comes out.

Step 3: Dip Tank Soak

All removable parts go into a heated dip tank in the van. This is a bath of professional-grade, non-caustic cleaning solution kept at a consistent temperature. The parts soak while the technician works on the cavity. This is what separates a professional clean from DIY — the dip tank dissolves baked-on grease and carbon that no amount of hand scrubbing can shift.

Step 4: Cavity Deep Clean

While the parts are soaking, the technician deep cleans the inside of the oven. Every surface is degreased: walls, ceiling, floor, element, and fan area. Non-caustic, fume-free products only.

Step 5: Door Glass Restoration

Every glass panel is cleaned individually, including the inner panels that trap grease and steam between them. This is often the most dramatic improvement and the part customers notice most.

Step 6: Reassembly and Polish

Once everything is clean, the parts come out of the dip tank looking brand new, and the oven is reassembled. Every surface gets a final professional-grade polish.

After the Clean

The technician shows you before and after photos side by side on the iPad, walks you through everything that was done, and presents an oven health report scoring every component. After we leave, you receive an email and WhatsApp with your before and after photos, the oven health report, and a link to leave a Google review.

Can I Use My Oven Straight After?

Yes. We use non-caustic, fume-free products, so there is no need to wait or run a burn-off cycle. You can start cooking immediately.
