Our story
Why I started MINT
For years, oven cleaning has been done by Oven Man. Armed with a tub of pink paste from Poundland and whatever spray was on offer that week, he works on the basis that you'll never know the difference.
After the back and forth to get hold of him, Oven Man eventually calls you back. He whips out his paper diary. “I can squeeze you in tomorrow,” he says, leaving you wondering why his schedule is quite so empty…
On the day he turns up in a scruffy white van and marches through your house in muddy boots. Down go the dirty floor mats.
You would not book a glossy haircut and expect own-brand shampoo, or a hairdryer that smells of smoke. Maybe it would get the job done. But that is not the point, and the hairdresser knows it as well as you do.
I spent years working for a well-known national franchise, charging people a premium price for a budget experience, and I never felt comfortable with it. So my brother and I built the oven refurbishment brand we thought my local area was missing. A proper professional refurbishment, and a customer experience to match.
You book online in seconds, having read through my 5★ Google reviews. I spent months finding the right professional-grade products, and I still treat every job like it is my first.

“There must be better standard in oven cleaning. MINT sets it.”
How I work
What that means in practice
No franchise fee in your price
I looked at buying a franchise. £15k up front, then a cut after that, all so I can put someone else’s 1990s brand name on my own van. As I’m independent, I can spend far longer on your oven than the national operators, and still come in competitively.
Professional products, properly used
I use specialist products and a heated dip tank for the heavy-duty work. Surfaces are cleaned and rinsed as part of the service, and I will advise you before use.
If it is not right, I come back
You do not have to argue with anyone or fill in a form. Ring me and I will come back and put it right. It does not happen often, but you will never be left unhappy with my work.
A proper arrival window
You pick an exact time when you book. I text you the evening before to remind you. On the day, you will hear from me when I leave the job before yours, so you know I am on the way.
DBS checked and background verified
Anyone coming into your home has been checked. That ought to be standard in this trade and sadly it is not.
Fully insured
Full public liability cover on every job, held with a specialist oven cleaning insurer. It covers everything from damage in your kitchen to a lost set of landlord’s keys. Ask and I will send you the certificate.

Who turns up
Taylor Wilson
That is me in the photo, and unless something has gone badly wrong, I am who you will meet at the door.
I grew up in Leighton Buzzard and now live with my young family in Silsoe. You are not a postcode territory I was allocated — this is the local area I know and love. My brother Sam built the booking system and runs the marketing behind the scenes.
MINT is deliberately small. And if it hopefully grows, it will be because I have found someone I would trust in my own mother's kitchen!
